Rolf Widmer

Rolf Widmer (* May 1971 ) is a politician ( CVP ) from Bilten in the Swiss canton of Glarus .

biography

The economist and formerly self-employed entrepreneur was in the district administrator from 1998-2004, in the Bilten chapel council and in the Bilten- Niederurnen church council from 1998-2003 . In 1999 he received a lectureship for monetary economics , macroeconomics and general economics from the University of St. Gallen . As a member of the government , he has headed the cantonal directorate for agriculture, forests and the environment since 2004. 2006–2010 he served as governor .

Rolf Widmer is married and has two children. For family reasons, he decided not to run for the post of Landammann on the occasion of the Landsgemeinde 2010, so that Robert Marti took over this office.
