Rollin Feitshans

Frederick Rollin Feitshans (born March 4, 1881 in Illinois , † January 11, 1952 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American tennis player .

biography

Feitshans took part in the tennis competition at the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis . In the individual he defeated after a bye at the start Joseph Charles , before the second round John Neely subject. In the double he did not go to the start. His only other tennis result is his first round defeat in 1912 at the US Championships .

Feithans came from Illinois, but moved to Los Angeles shortly after the 1904 Games, where he took on various administrative jobs. From 1921 to 1925 he was head of town planning and from 1923 to 1927 he was also a member of the Ministry of Education. From 1925 to 1939 he was also active on the Board of Trust .

The von Feithans family came to prominence in Hollywood . His son Fred R. Feitshans junior (1909-1987) was a film editor who received an Oscar nomination for the film Wild in the Streets . His grandson Buzz Feitshans and his great-grandson Buzz Feitshans IV also worked in the film industry.
