Román Rodríguez Rodríguez (born March 1, 1956 in San Nicolás de Tolentino ) is a politician in the Canary Islands , an autonomous community of Spain . Between 1999 and 2003 he was its president.

Rodríguez studied medicine at the University of San Cristóbal de La Laguna .

In 1991 he became a member of the Iniciativa Canaria Nacionalista (ICAN) , an organization that became part of the Canarian regional party Coalición Canaria (CC) in 1993 . With the Spanish parliamentary elections in 2004 he became the party's representative. Román Rodríguez has been chairman of the Nueva Canarias since it was founded in 2005 .
