Christian Edward Johnston Horner , OBE (born November 16, 1973 in Leamington Spa ) is a former British automobile racing driver and current team manager at Red Bull Racing . He is also the team owner of Arden International .

Christian Horner's motorsport career began in 1994 with the Fortec team's debut in British Formula 3. The following year Horner was in the same class at ADR Motorsport , and finally in 1996 at TOM’S . In 1996 he drove his first races with Formula 3000 cars when he started for Madgwick International in the British Formula 3000 Championship, known as the national Formula 2 championship . In 1997 Horner moved to the International Formula 3000 Championship , where he competed with his own Arden International racing team. In 1998 he stayed in Formula 3000 and temporarily took part in Kurt Molleken's KTR team.

In 1999 Christian Horner decided on a future as a team owner in Formula 3000 with Wiktor Maslow and Marc Goossens . In 2002 Horner brought Tomáš Enge and Björn Werdenheim into the team, who replaced Maslow and Goossens. For the 2003 season, Enge had to vacate the cockpit for the American Townsend Bell , while Werdenheim could stay in the team. The 2004 season was a successful year for Horner and the Arden team: the later Formula 1 racing drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi and Robert Doornbos won the driver and team championship for Arden.

In 2005 Christian Horner switched to Formula 1 . Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz bought the Jaguar team and hired Horner as team boss of the newly founded Austrian team Red Bull Racing . From 2010 to 2013, the team with Horner as team boss won both the constructors' world championship title four times in a row and the drivers’s title with Sebastian Vettel .

Personal

He has a daughter (* 2013) with his long-time partner Beverley Allen. Since spring 2014 he has been in a relationship with the British pop singer Geri Halliwell , whom he married on May 15, 2015. Their son was born on January 21, 2017.
