Nueva Canarias (NC) is a regional party in the Spanish autonomous region of the Canary Islands .

The NC emerged from the Canarian Nationalist Initiative (ICAN) , a wing within the coalition Coalición Canaria (CC), from which it split on February 25, 2005. The NC is based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria , ideologically it assigns itself to the center-left. The party chairman is the former Canarian President Román Rodríguez Rodríguez . At the time the party was founded, he was an elected member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies for the CC . After a transition phase, in which the CC and NC formed a joint parliamentary group, Rodríguez Rodríguez resigned from the parliamentary group in 2007, whereupon it dissolved.

In 2006 Nueva Canarias and the Initiative for La Palma (INPA) agreed with the Nationalist Party of Lanzarote ( Partido Nacionalista de Lanzarote , PNL) to run the local elections on May 27, 2007 in a list connection. Four representatives were elected to the Parliament of Gran Canaria and two to that of Lanzarote. In the regional elections that took place at the same time, however, the NC failed to enter the Canarian regional parliament with 5.58% of the vote, just under the 6 percent hurdle.

In the Spanish parliamentary elections in 2008 NC only competed in the province of Las Palmas. Here, with 7.57% of the vote, it exceeded the result of the CC (5.94%), but could not get a seat in the House of Representatives.
