Roman Alexandrowitsch Sarubin ( Russian Роман Александрович Зарубин ; born  December 4, 1976 in Belaja Kalitwa , Rostov Oblast , Soviet Union ) is a Russian canoeist .

Athletic career

Sarubin took part in the 2000 Olympic Games and finished 7th in a four-person kayak over 1000 meters. In a two-man kayak , Sarubin and Alexander Iwanik were eliminated in the semi-finals.

At the 2001 World Championships in Poznan , Sarubin won the gold medal in a four-person kayak over 500 meters.
