Franz Karl Ferdinand Ludwig Adolf von Salisch (born July 26, 1790 in Halberstadt , † October 11, 1846 in Torgau ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

He was the son of the Prussian major a. D. Franz Karl Otto von Salisch (1747–1822) and his wife Johanna Friederike Wilhelmine, born von Oppen (1764–1819).

Military career

After visiting the cadet house in Berlin , Salisch was employed on April 8, 1806 as an ensign in the “von Braunschweig” infantry regiment of the Prussian army . He took part in the war against France in 1806 , was seriously wounded in the battle of Auerstedt and was captured after the surrender of Magdeburg . As a result, Salisch was made inactive on November 11, 1806.

On September 29, 1809 Salisch was aggregated on foot as a second lieutenant in the Guard Regiment with a patent from August 20, 1806 . In 1813/14 he took part in the battles near Großgörschen , Bautzen , Leipzig and Paris during the Wars of Liberation . In the meantime promoted to Prime Lieutenant, he was transferred to the 2nd Guards Regiment on foot on June 20, 1813, and Salisch was awarded the Iron Cross II Class and the Order of St. Vladimir IV Class for his achievements .

After the peace agreement, Salisch advanced to captain and company commander . This was followed by his promotion to major on February 3, 1822, a position as battalion commander in the 40th Infantry Regiment (4th Reserve Regiment) . From May 25, 1822 to February 11, 1827 Salisch was active in the 21st Infantry Regiment (4th Pomeranian) and was then commander of the Fusilier Battalion in the 14th Infantry Regiment in Stargard . As a lieutenant colonel , Salisch was commissioned on March 30, 1838 to lead the 32nd Infantry Regiment in Erfurt . Shortly afterwards he was appointed regimental commander on September 15, 1838 and in this capacity was promoted to colonel on March 30, 1840 . Four years later he was appointed commander of the 6th Infantry Brigade in Brandenburg an der Havel . In recognition of his services, Salisch received the Order of the Red Eagle III on September 23, 1844 . Class with a bow. After he had been promoted to major general on March 31, 1846, Salisch died on October 11, 1846 in the exercise of his service.

Salisch married on July 10, 1818 in Siede with Wilhelmine Agnes von Oppen (1800-1838). She was the daughter of the Prussian Lieutenant General Adolf Friedrich von Oppen (1762–1834).
