Roman Dmytrovytsch Horak ( Ukrainian Роман Дмитрович Горак ; born January 17, 1942 in Horodok , Generalgouvernement ) is a Ukrainian writer, literary scholar and museum director.

Life

Horak studied from 1959 to 1964 at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Ivan Franko University in Lviv .

Roman Horak has authored more than 300 studies and articles on Ivan Franko and other writers since 1993 and director of the National Ivan Franko literary and Memorial Museum ( Львівський національний літературно-меморіальний музей Івана Франка ) in Lviv . Since 1988 Horak has been a member of the National Association of Writers of Ukraine .

Honors

Horak has received numerous honors, including the Ivan Franko Literature Prize and the honorary title of "Honored in the Culture of Ukraine". In 2016 he was awarded the Taras Shevchenko Prize, the Ukrainian State Prize for Culture.
