Roman Evgenjewitsch Kuchtinow ( Russian Роман Евгеньевич Кухтинов ; born December 1, 1975 in Belgorod , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player .

Career

Roman Kuchtinow began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Krylya Sowetow Moscow , for whose professional team he made his debut in the super league in the 1993/94 season . The defender then spent one season each at their league rivals SKA Saint Petersburg and Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk before taking a two-year break from ice hockey. In the summer of 1998, the Russian signed with Metallurg Novokuznetsk , for which he ran for the following three years. In the 2001 NHL Entry Draft , the left-shooter was selected by the New York Islanders in the ninth round as a total of 280th player, but stayed in his Russian homeland, where he played for Salawat Julajew Ufa , Severstal Tscherepowez , HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , again Ufa, as well as one and a half years for the two capital clubs HK Spartak Moscow and HK CSKA Moscow in the super league was on the ice.

In the summer of 2008 Kuchtinow was committed by Amur Khabarovsk , for which he played in the newly founded Continental Hockey League until 2010 .
