Rombout Hogerbeets (born June 24, 1561 in Hoorn ; † September 7, 1625 ) was a Dutch statesman.

Hogerbeets studied law under Hugo Donellus at the University of Leiden . In 1590 the city government of Leiden elected him their pensioner .

In 1619, as he was a political and religious ( remonstrant ) supporter of Johan van Oldenbarnevelt, he was sentenced to life imprisonment at the fortress Loevestein together with his important colleague Hugo Grotius . In 1625, however, Hogerbeets was set free again by an act of grace.
