Rome Township is located in the east of Athens County in southeast Ohio and borders clockwise on the townships: Bern Township , Wesley Township in Washington County , Decatur Township (Washington County), Troy Township , Carthage Township , Lodi Township , Canaan Township and Ames Township .
administration
The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two people are elected in the year after the presidential election and one in the year before. The term of office usually lasts four years and begins on January 1st. There is also a township clerk (secretary), who is also elected for a four-year term in the year before the presidential election. His term of office begins on April 1st.
