Romoaldo Guidi

Romoaldo Guidi (born February 5, 1722 in Cesena , † April 23, 1780 in Rome ) was Cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

Romoaldo Guidi was born in Cesena as the eldest of six children of Costantino Guidi, Marquis of Montevecchio and Count of Sambucheto, and his wife Caterina di Pasio Belmonti, a noblewoman from Rimini . He received his professional education in his hometown, after which he entered the service of the Holy See in 1751 .

Since September 26, 1766 Secretary of the Congregation for the Administration of the Papal States, Pope Pius VI raised him . on June 1, 1778 cardinal and assigned him on July 20, 1778 as a cardinal deacon the title deaconry of San Giorgio in Velabro . The consecration to Subdeacon he received on 22 March 1779th

Cardinal Guidi died after a short illness and was buried in his titled deaconry San Giorgio in Velabro. His family held a spiritual office for him on June 10, 1780, at which the lawyer Tommaso Lacchini, a nobleman and professor from Cesena, gave a speech; this appeared in print shortly afterwards.
