Romualdas Čaika

Romualdas Čaika (born May 9, 1937 in Beržinė , Radviliškis district ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, former judge at the Supreme Court of Lithuania .

Life

After graduating from secondary school, Čaika graduated from 1956 to 1961 with a degree in law at the law faculty of the Vilniaus universitetas (VU) and became a qualified lawyer . From 1968 to 1969 studied Čaika in postgraduate VU. From 1955 to 1956 he headed a sector of the Komsomol Committee of the Šeduva Raion near Radviliškis . From 1961 to 1963 he worked at VU as an assistant and university professor.

From 1963 to 1968, Čaika was a judge and chairman of the court of the Lenin Rajon in Vilnius Municipality . From 1969 to 1974 he worked as a judge at Lietuvos TSR Aukščiausiasis Teismas and from 1974 to 1982 as head of human resources at the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania . From 1982 to 1990, Čaika was again judge at Lietuvos Respublikos Aukščiausiasis Teismas , from 1990 to 2007 at. Lietuvos Aukščiausiasis Teismas .

Čaika is married. He and his wife Nijolė (* 1937) have their son Valdas (* 1962).
