Ronald Ferguson Thomson

Sir Ronald Ferguson Thomson KCMG , CB ( June 26, 1830 - November 15, 1888 ) was a British diplomat .

Life

Ronald Ferguson Thomson was appointed third-class delegation secretary in Tehran on September 7, 1848 and promoted to paid attaché on January 5, 1852. He spent his entire professional life in Tehran. In 1879 he succeeded his older brother William Taylour Thomson in the office of ambassador to Tehran. The Sheikh Ubeydallah uprising took place during his tenure . Ronald Ferguson Thomson was retired in 1887 .
