Ronald Knecht

Ronald Knecht (* 1961 ) is a former German basketball player .

career

Knecht played in Koblenz, then at TSV 1860 Hagen. He left the second division in 1984 and from then on played for BG Steiner-Optik Bayreuth . With the team he succeeded in the game year 1984/85 under the direction of coach Tom Schneeman, the desired promotion to the basketball league . In 1985 Knecht moved into the final of the DBB Cup with Bayreuth (then still in the second division), where they were defeated by the ASC Göttingen . With Bayreuth Knecht also came to appearances in the European Cup. In 1987 the 2.06 meter long inside player moved within the Bundesliga to TV 1862 Langen, but rose with the team in the 1987/88 season in the 2nd basketball Bundesliga .

In 1986, he played his only two full international matches for the German national team, both against Switzerland .

After the end of his competitive sports career, Knecht played in the German old man's national team. Professionally he worked in finance, worked temporarily in Luxembourg , in Frankfurt am Main and then in the United States .
