Ronnie DuPont

Ronald "Ronnie" Charles DuPont or Ron DuPont (born January 28, 1937 in New Orleans , † November 5, 2015 in Dallas ) was an American jazz pianist .

Ronnie DuPont's family came from France; his father Charlie was a musician and his uncle Arthur Joseph Seelig, Sr. jazz musician. His career as a professional musician began at the age of 18 in the traditional New Orleans jazz scene; he played for many years in the bands of Al Hirt and Pete Fountain . In the late 1960s he led his own quartet, with whom he regularly performed at dance events in the Bistro Lounge on Tulane Avenue. He also played with Bill Huntington, Al Bernard and Reed Vaughan. He can also be heard on recordings by Santo Pecora and most recently in 1978 with The New Orleans Jazz Band . In the field of jazz, he was involved in 15 recording sessions between 1956 and 1978.
