Joel Gustaf Berghult (born April 8, 1988 in Gothenburg , Sweden ), better known as RoomieOfficial or Roomie , is a Swedish web video producer , singer and music producer . He is best known for his viral imitation videos and for his collaboration with the Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie .

Private life

Berghult's father Bosse Berghult is also a musician and made him familiar with the production of music and playing instruments at an early age.

In 2014 Berghult graduated from Music Academy “ Musikmakarna ” in Sweden with a degree in music production and songwriting .

Career

He created his YouTube channel on July 25, 2010. In 2014, he became famous through a series of videos in which he imitated well-known musicians. In September 2015 he was seen on the Swedish show Nyhetsmorgon , and shortly thereafter in October on Good Morning America .

In 2014 Roomie started composing music for the Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie . His single "His Name is Pewdiepie" was released in 2014, followed by "Brofist" in 2016. In 2019 Berghult worked again with Pewdiepie and this time with the YouTuber Boyinaband . The resulting song Congratulations reached number one on the Billboard US Comedy Digital Track Charts.

On June 11, 2020, he announced that he would be taking an indefinite break from YouTube.
