RosAeroSystems ( Russian РосАэроСистемы ) was founded in 1997 as a subsidiary of the AUGUR Aeronautical Center. It deals with lighter-than-air technology and has a design office, envelope production and extensive testing facilities.

The enterprise

Due to its origins, the company can draw on the knowledge and technical and intellectual resources of the Russian aerospace and defense industries on a national and international level. The partners include:

The company relies on a domestic market, where there is a need for airships and aerostats, especially in northern Russia and Siberia . However, RosAeroSystem also delivers all over the world with growing sales figures. The subsidiary RosAeroSystems International, Ltd was founded in the USA in 2002 for international sales .

The aim of the corporate strategy is to build up an efficient airship industry that is able to develop and carry out large airship and aerostat projects. The strategy provides for a gradual increase in experience, improvement of technology and the development of new facilities before the construction and construction of large transport airships can begin. The first steps include the construction of a two-seater airship, after which a 3-ton airship is planned.

At present (2005) envelopes up to 50,000 cubic meters can be produced. The individual parts are cut on our own computer-controlled cutting machines and then welded. The cover fabrics themselves are bought on the international market. For example, a shell was made for the French airship project Voliris 900.
