Rosalia Romaniec

Rosalia Romaniec (* 1972 in Gliwice , Poland ) is a German-Polish journalist and director .

biography

education

After graduating from high school, Romaniec worked briefly as a reporter for a local newspaper until she began studying in Germany in 1992. She studied journalism , political science and sport at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Dortmund .

job

Since her traineeship at Deutsche Welle in Cologne, she has been working as a freelance writer for various German and Polish media, including Deutsche Welle, Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg , and several other ARD broadcasters. In 2002 she moved from Cologne to Berlin.

In the capital, she worked for years as a correspondent for the Polish program of Deutsche Welle (DW) in the capital city studio Berlin and as a writer for the German program of DW. Until 2016 she also worked as an author and presenter for the television program of the Berlin Brandenburg broadcasting company in Potsdam. She also wrote for the Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza .

From 2016 to 2018 she headed the Eastern Central Europe editorial team at Deutsche Welle with four language editorial teams (Polish, Greek, Bulgarian and Romanian) in Bonn.
From 2018 to 2020 she was the head of the Politics department at DW in Berlin. Since February 2020 she has been heading the Deutsche Welle capital city studio in Berlin.
In 2006/08 she was chairwoman of the Association of Foreign Press in Germany.
