Rose-Marie Olischer

Rose-Marie Olischer (born September 25, 1925 in Rostock ; † June 24, 2006 there ) was a German neurologist and university professor .

Life

Olischer studied medicine at the University of Rostock from 1954 to 1960 , having previously worked in the trade and surveying. In 1960 she received her doctorate . After completing her degree, she completed specialist training at the Rostock University Clinic for Neurology and Psychiatry. Olischer was promoted to senior neurologist in 1968. She qualified as a professor in 1969 with a thesis on CSF cytology and was appointed associate professor in 1976. In 1985 Rose-Marie Olischer retired.

Act

From 1970 Rose-Marie Olischer headed the Liquordiagnostik Laboratory founded by Johannes Sayk at the Rostock Psychiatric Clinic, the leading facility of its kind in the GDR . She further developed the liquor chemical and cytological methods and contributed to the standardization of examination procedures.

From 1979 to 1989, Olischer was chairman of the clinical neurochemistry and liquor research section of the Society for Psychiatry and Neurology of the GDR . She was an honorary member of the German Society for CSF Diagnostics and Clinical Neurochemistry (DGLN).
