The Rose Point is a rocky headland on the Ruppert Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It is located 1.5 km east of Cape Burk .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using their own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1974 after Stephen Darwin (1896-1959), first officer on board the Bear of Oaklay and then captain of the Jacob Ruppert on the voyages to the Bay of Whales (1933 and 1935) in the course of the second Antarctic expedition (1933–1935) of the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd .
