The Rosemarie Kilian Park is a green space named after Rosemarie Kilian in the Damperhof district of the Schleswig-Holstein state capital, Kiel . The park in the Karree Knooper Weg, Teichstraße, Lehmberg, Mittelstraße belongs to the Green Tangent North and is approx. 8500 m² in size.

history

The renaming of the previously unnamed green area was decided by the Kiel Council on November 17, 2016, after a green area in the brewery district had previously been discussed for the renaming. The name is reminiscent of the actress Rosemarie Kilian (born June 2, 1919 in Landsberg an der Warthe ; † January 31, 2014 in Kiel), who became known from 1969 through numerous roles at the Kieler Schauspielhaus. She was appointed chamber actress in 1999 and initiated the association for the establishment of a theater museum in 2004. In 2009 she received the Kiel Seal of Honor and in 2011 the Order of Merit of the State of Schleswig-Holstein .
