Fernando Muteka

Fernando Faustino Muteka is an Angolan politician from the Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola (MPLA).

Life

Fernando Faustino Muteka took over after Angola's independence from Portugal on November 11, 1975, between 1976 and 1977, the post of Commissioner of the Bié Province . In 1978 he succeeded Manuel Pedro Pacavira as Minister of Transport and Telecommunications (Ministro dos Transportes e Telecomunicações) in the government of President of Angola Agostinho Neto or, after his death on September 10, 1979, from his successor, José Eduardo dos Santos . He held this ministerial office until 1984, when Manuel Bernardo de Sousa succeeded him.

After Muteka was Commissioner of the Namibe Province between 1984 and 1987 , he took over the post of Minister of Agriculture (Ministro da Agricultura) in the government of President dos Santos between 1987 and 1991 .
