Rosemarie Sophie Charlotte Kilian (born June 2, 1919 in Landsberg / Warthe , † January 31, 2014 in Kiel ) was a German actress .

Life

Rosemarie Kilian saw the light of day in Landsberg / Warthe (now Poland) as the second child of a bank director and a teacher. In 1935 she began private acting training in Bremen and was able to prevent joining the BDM and the Reich Labor Service . In Hamburg she failed the final examination for the acting profession twice. In 1937 she got to know Lilly Ackermann at the drama school and worked as an extra for Ufa. In 1939 she passed her acting examination and was selected for a supporting role in the propaganda film » Jud Suss «, but replaced because of her appearance. In 1940 she got a contract in Allenstein , East Prussia , after the war she played in Darmstadt, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe and Gelsenkirchen. As a single parent with two children, she came to Kiel in 1969 and played countless roles there. She was appointed chamber actress in 1996 , received the seal of splendor from the state capital Kiel in 2009 and the Order of Merit of Schleswig-Holstein in 2011 . On January 31, 2014, Rosemarie Kilian died at the age of 94 in her house in Kiel.

Honors

In 2016, the Kiel council meeting renamed a previously unnamed green space to Rosemarie-Kilian-Park .
