Rosemary Chukwuma (born May 12, 2001 in Ekwashi ) is a Nigerian sprinter .

Athletic career

Rosemary Chukwuma gained her first international experience at the Commonwealth Games 2018 in the Australian Gold Coast , where she won the bronze medal behind the teams from England and Jamaica in the Nigerian 4 x 100 meter relay in 42.75 seconds. In the summer she won the relay at the African Championships in Asaba in 43.77 s and did not start over 200 meters. Before that, she won the African Youth Games in Algiers over 100 and 200 meters and thus qualified for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires , where she won the gold medal over 100 meters. In the following year she won the Junior African Championships in Abidjan in 11.62 s and 23.81 s over 100 and 200 meters and in 45.56 s with the 4 x 100 meter relay. In early May, she retired with the relay at the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama with 45.07 s in the first round. Then she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and made it over 200 meters to the final, in which she did not start. She also won the Nigerian relay in 44.16 seconds.
