Rosina is a red wine variety created by interspecific crossing . It is a fungus-resistant (Piwi) new breed of the State Viticulture Institute in Freiburg . The grape variety should not be confused with the white berry Rosina 1 , a Hungarian variety
Origin, descent
The table grape was bred from the two parent varieties Solaris and Muscat Bleu . The Galanth and Garant grape varieties are the result of crosses between the same parents. It has large, loose-berried grapes with red to blue-black berry color and is used as a table grape and ornamental grape.
Ampelographic features
- The growth is strong.
- The grapes are medium-sized and evenly shaped, the berries are large and somewhat elliptical.
- The leaves are strong and dark green.
- The maturity is early.
Yield
The yield is regular and medium to high. The variety is suitable as a table grape.
properties
The new variety ripens early, usually as early as August / early September. The variety is therefore well suited for more northern wine regions. The growth is strong. The vines have good resistance to Oidium , Peronospora and Botrytis . The hardiness in winter frosts is described as good.
