Company history

Rossin road bike with Shimano 105 equipment and Campagnolo rims

In 1974 Rossin was founded. Mario Rossin and four other partners are involved in the “Project Rossin”. Mario Rossin worked as a frame builder for Colnago for many years .

One of the founding partners saw the label of the Italian beverage brand Royal Cola and had an initial idea. The logo of the ski brand Rossignol Skis also inspired the founders. This is how the typical Rossin “R” was developed. The surrounding Pentagon refers to the five founding fathers.

In 1992 the company was sold to Finross and the Rossin brand was continued by Finross . In the 2000s, the trademark rights went to the bicycle manufacturer Gruppo Bici srl. in Cesena. From 2011 until the bankruptcy in 2016, bikes of the Rossin brand were again manufactured by Gruppo Bici.

bikes

Rossin mainly built racing bikes and track bikes. Columbus steel tubes and Campagnolo group sets were used almost exclusively . The models Record, Super Record, Laser Aerodynamics and Ghibli became known.

Cycling

In 1981 the company entered professional cycling by starting to support the Belgian cycling team DAF Trucks , led by Roger De Vlaeminck . In 1983 both the Russian and American track cycling teams rode on Rossin track bikes. The wheels were equipped with the first model of disc wheels, which were presented by Rossin that same year, and horn handlebars. These bikes were manufactured under the name Rossin Futura CX .
