Roswitha Gerdes

Roswitha Gerdes (after marriage to Gerdes-Kuhn ; born June 28, 1961 in Damme ) is a former German middle -distance runner who specialized in the 1,500 meter distance .

In 1984 she was sixth at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg and fourth at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles .

In 1984 she became German runner-up over 1500 m. In the hall she was runner-up over 800 m in 1981 and runner-up over 1500 m in 1982 and 1984.

Roswitha Gerdes started for ASV Cologne . She studied medicine and did her doctorate in 1990 on the subject of stress reactions and injuries to the lower extremities in middle-distance runners. She is a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery and runs the German Society for Leisure Medicine GbR with her husband Harald Kuhn .
