The red eye animal ( Euglena sanguinea ) is a species of the protists from the genus of the eye animals ( Euglena ). It occurs in clean standing water.

features

Euglena sanguinea is 55 to 170 microns long. The cells are highly metabolic and spindle-shaped to almost cylindrical. There are chloroplasts -Scheibchen present. The scourge is twice as long as the body. The eye spot is large. The membrane has rows of cusps running in a spiral. The species appears red in color due to hematochrome granules .
