Rotmistriwka (Ukrainian Ротмістрівка ; Russian Ротмистровка / Rotmistrowka ) is a village in the central Ukrainian Cherkassy Oblast with about 2100 inhabitants.
The place is located about 14 kilometers southwest of the Raion capital Smila and 41 kilometers southwest of the Oblast capital Cherkassy on a territorial road and forms its own district municipality within the Raion Smila , which also includes the settlement Vovkivka (Вовківка).
The village, first mentioned in the second half of the 17th century, became the capital of the Volost Rotmistrowka of the same name in the 19th century (until 1923), after which it was the center of the raion of the same name from 1934 to 1956 (briefly from 1928 to 1930) Red Mistrivka .
The place is best known for the Red Mistrivka crater , which he gave the name.
