The Rottenmanner Hütte is a refuge of the Austrian Alpine Club in the municipality of Rottenmann . The hut is located between Hirschriedel and Stein am Mandl in the Rottenmanner Tauern at 1651 meters above sea level. The hut is used as a starting point for many hikes in the northern Rottenmanner Tauern.

history

After the Rottenmann PES section was founded on June 20, 1946, it began six years later with the construction of the Rottenmanner Hütte and in 1953 the opening ceremony took place. On January 30, 1982, an avalanche went off the eastern flank of the Stein am Mandl and destroyed the refuge ( hut memorial tribe ). A new hut was then erected around 250 meters above the original hut in a two-year construction period and opened in autumn 1984.

Pilgrimage of the world religions

The most popular ascent route to the Rottenmanner Hütte is the pilgrimage route of the world religions, which continues to Glohbuckensee. It is a 50-minute walk to the hut. The starting point is the valley station of the Rottenmanner Hütte material cable car.

The opening of the pilgrimage of the world religions with 14 sculptures took place in 2004. On June 11, 2016, two more sculptures were erected. Ingrid Flick, the widow of the industrialist Friedrich Karl Flick, took over the sponsorship of the pilgrimage .

Singsdorfer Alm

This trail also begins at the material cable car, but after a 5-minute walk a path branches off to the left (bridge over the Kalcherbach). From the Singsdorfer Alm you can go two more ways: the five-summit tour ( Hochhaide , Moserspitz , Diewaldgupf , Seegupf , Stein am Mandl ), or the way over the Hirschriedel. Allow 3–4 hours for the former tour.

Big evil stone

Another way to the Rottenmanner Hütte is the way over the Großer Bösenstein . The path begins at the Edelrautehütte and leads over Bösenstein, Dreistecken , Hochhaide, Moserspitz, Diewaldgupf, Seegupf and Stein am Mandl over Glohbuckensee to the Rottenmanner Hütte. The duration of the tour is 8–9 hours.
