Rottorf is a district of the town of Königslutter am Elm in the Helmstedt district in Lower Saxony .

Rottorf is about 1 km east of Königslutter in the direction of Helmstedt and Groß Steinum and is traversed by the Lutter .

history

Rottorf was first mentioned in a document in 1245. On March 1, 1974, Rottorf was incorporated into the town of Königslutter am Elm.

societies

The largest club in the village, with almost 500 members, is TSV Rottorf Groß Steinum. The club was created on May 21, 1976 from the clubs MTV Groß Steinum and SV Rottorf. The place has a sports field and several tennis courts, as well as a gym. There is also a small cemetery with a chapel and a small church. Furthermore, the Lutter flows through the place.
