Roundwood
Roundwood ( Irish : An Tóchar; German: "The dam") is a village with 589 inhabitants (2006) in County Wicklow in Ireland .
The place
Roundwood, also known historically as Togher , is located at the intersection of the R755, R764 and R765 regional roads. The R755 is the main route from Dublin to Glendalough to the south in the Wicklow Mountains . At 238 m above sea level, Roundwood is one of the highest villages in the Republic of Ireland.

- Roundwood is closely related to two Irish presidents: Seán Ó Ceallaigh (1882–1966) lived here temporarily and Erskine Hamilton Childers (1905–1974) was buried in the cemetery of the Church of Ireland Derralossary near the village.
- The Vartry Reservoir Lakes are very close by. The reservoirs were built in the Victorian Age in the 1860s.
- Roundwood served as the set for the 1998 Irish drama The American Nephew, starring Pierce Brosnan and Donal McCann .
