Roxana Briban

Roxana Briban (born October 28, 1971 in Bucharest ; † November 20, 2010 there ) was a Romanian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Briban made his debut in 2000 with Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Opera Națională Bucureşti . She has appeared in all the renowned opera houses in the world, including Bucharest, Berlin, Toulouse, Amsterdam, Seoul, Bangkok and Santiago. In 2003 she was Micaela in Georges Bizet's Carmen , in 2008 Amelia Grimaldi in Giuseppe Verdi's Simon Boccanegra and in 2009 Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro at the Vienna State Opera .

Briban committed at the age of 39 years apparently 20 November 2010 suicide . She suffered from depression and had a vocal crisis for a year and a half. She was married.
