Roy Blumenfeld
Roy Blumenfeld (born May 11, 1944 in the Bronx , New York City ) is an American rock musician who was best known as the drummer for the band Blues Project .
Together with bassist Andy Kulberg, Blumenfeld formed one of the hottest rhythm sections in the blues and jazz scene in New York in the early 1960s. They accompanied Al Kooper on his solo recordings for the sampler What's Shakin ' . Together the three took part in Danny Kalbs Blues Project in 1965 . After the end of the Blues Project, Blumenfeld and Kulberg continued the band under the name Seatrain in 1969 , which existed until 1974.
In the years that followed, Blumenfeld played with many well-known musicians, including Nick Gravenites and Al Kooper.
