Ebnath - church and rectory

Ebnath is a municipality in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth and a member of the Neusorg administrative community .

geography

The community is located in the Fichtelgebirge Nature Park , in the far north of the Upper Palatinate, right on the border with the administrative district of Upper Franconia . Not far from the village are the Kosseine , the Steinwald Nature Park and the Kemnather Land .

history

The Ebnath settlement was first mentioned in a document in 1179 . The place was part of the Electorate of Bavaria , it formed a closed Hofmark of the Counts of Hirschberg . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Ebnath was also a place where iron was processed. The local iron hammers such as the Dorfhammer Ebnath , the Hammer Selingau , the Schenkelhammer or the Hammer Niederlind , today part of Mehlmeisel, bear witness to this .
