Andy Kulberg

Andy Kulberg (born April 30, 1944 in Buffalo , New York, † January 29, 2002 in Marin County ) was an American rock musician (flute, bass). He became known as a member of the bands Blues Project and Seatrain .

Andy Kulberg had a classical training on the flute, but in 1965 he became bassist for Danny Kalb's Blues Project . He had previously played with Roy Blumenfeld and Al Kooper , who were also in the Blues Project. In 1966 the band recorded the piece Flute Thing , where Kulberg played his actual instrument.

After the Blues Project was dissolved, Kulberg and Blumenfeld founded the band Seatrain , which existed until 1974 . He then played with various artists and bands, including David Grisman and Sylvia McNair .

Andy Kulberg died in California in 2002 .
