Ruben Josefson

Per Love Ruben Josefson (born August 25, 1907 in Svenljunga , † March 19, 1972 in Uppsala ) was Archbishop of the Church of Sweden from 1967 to 1972.

Josefson was the son of the merchant Per Linus Josefson and Alfrida Lovisa Christiansson. He began his studies at Uppsala University in 1926 and became a theology candidate in 1931, licentiate in 1935 and doctorate in 1937. Josefson became a lecturer in dogmatics there in 1937 . He was ordained in 1940 and was secretary to the archbishop from 1944 to 1945. At Fjellstedtska skolan he was director from 1945 to 1958. In 1959 he was appointed Bishop of Härnösand ; from 1967 until his retirement he was Archbishop of Uppsala.
