properties

Physical Properties

Rubidium dithionate crystallizes in the trigonal crystal system in the space group P 321 (space group no. 150) with the lattice parameters a = 1017 pm, c = 642 pm, and 3 formula units per unit cell . Template: room group / 150

Chemical properties

Like all dithionates, rubidium dithionate disproportionates into rubidium sulfate and sulfur dioxide when heated .

Rubidium difluorodithionate Rb 2 F 2 S 2 O 5 is formed with hydrofluoric acid and crystallizes out as a trihydrate.
