The Rubner peak is about 650 m high mountain on the Loubet coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is the highest point in a sharp ridge between the McCance and Widdowson glaciers immediately south of Darbel Bay .
Aerial photographs were taken between 1956 and 1957 during the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountain in 1960 after the German physiologist Max Rubner (1854-1932), who had dealt with the human calorie requirement under a wide variety of conditions.
