The Rucker Park is a basketball court in the New York borough of Harlem , which has gained a certain fame because numerous later famous basketball professionals, including some NBA players, played there. It is also a popular location for film and music video productions, mostly by hip-hop artists from the area . In addition to basketball, Rucker Park also serves as a venue for cultural activities.

The square was named after the New York teacher Holcombe L. Rucker, who hosted a basketball tournament at the location in 1947. He used basketball as an educational tool to teach the children and managed to give 700 youngsters the opportunity to go to college through a basketball scholarship.
