Rude Boy Records is a German record label that is active in both production and sales.

history

The label was founded in the early 1990s by the former music manager and songwriter Andric Stanelle as an independent label . Rude Boy Records emerged directly from Andric Stanelle Productions.

In collaboration with distribution partner BMG Ariola , Big Illusion was released on August 5, 1992, the label's first release and at the same time the label debut of the four southern German hard rockers from Mason, who were supported as songwriter by band manager and label boss Andric Stanelle for their first album. Said studio album was received largely positively in the general music and specialist press, which also led to an appearance in the London Marquee Club .

1993 released the label with the single Stop The Racism, the first release of Colors United . Together with the two Colors United artists Dee Smoove and the Advanced Chemistry co-founder DJ Mike MD , against the background of increasing xenophobia, they also got involved in the No Hass in the Wild South campaign of the former Stuttgart radio station SDR 3 . The Colors United studio album You Talk 2 Much was released in early 1995, both on CD and vinyl.

In 1993, Rude Boy Records also made its way into electronic music. First the single Waited far too long b / w Torch was released! by Vincent Wilkie , later known as lotte ohm, and by his former music band The Unexpected, followed by the band's first studio album ( A Pocketful of Truth ). With Bambi's Revenge followed a Jayzz- and funk-heavy album of the band of the same name, which is known as Bambees Revenge today. The guitar player Jörg Lehnardt was part of the group at that time and has been one of the great musicians in his field since his time with Blowbeat . In 1999 he toured the People's Republic of China for three weeks. He also accepted the call to lecturer at the University of Music in Cologne in the field of jazz guitar and combo.

A year later, the label made headlines again when it released the joint album Rebellen der Kunst by the rock & roll junkies and Konrad Kujau , the forger of the Hitler diaries . Towards the end of 1995, due to internal problems, the label project was shut down, which is why the album Purify ... by the metal band Scapegoat from Speyer , released in November 1995, should be the last release to date.

In 2005, however, the label was revived. In the course of this time the program has changed, new artists and producers have been added. In the meantime, Rude Boy Records focuses mainly on underground hip-hop and rap .
