As part of the European Rowing Championships 2018 , the competition in the women's lightweight double sculls was held on the Strathclyde Loch regatta course between August 2nd and 5th, 2018 . A total of eleven teams took part and the competition consisted of two preliminary runs, two hope runs and an A and B final.
For the Swiss Rowing Federation went Patricia Merz and Frédérique Rol to the start and won the bronze medal. The German team consisting of Leonie Pless and Katrin Thoma took first place in the B final and the Austrian team consisting of Louisa Altenhuber and Laura Arndorfer took third place in the B final. The European championship title was secured by the Dutch duo Marieke Keijser and Ilse Paulis, ahead of Weronika Deresz and Joanna Dorociak and the Swiss team.

The two preliminary runs were held on August 2, 2018. The winners of the preliminary runs qualified directly for the finals, while the others have the opportunity to qualify for the finals via the repechage.
