Rowing club Lochau on Lake Constance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lochau rowing club (RC Lochau, LOC) from Lochau on Lake Constance was founded in 1997. This rowing club is one of two rowing clubs in Vorarlberg and belongs to the Austrian Rowing Association (ÖRV) .

The club emerged in 1997 by splitting off from the rowing club Wiking Bregenz . In 2004 the racing division merged again with the RV Wiking. In seven years the rowers of the RC Lochau had won 36 national championship titles. In several World Cup, U23 World Cup and Junior World Cup participations, they won a total of four medals from Martina Mießgang and Bernd Feuerstein. The trigger for the reunification with RV Wiking Bregenz was that RC Lochau wanted to build a building to accommodate the expensive racing boats, but could not find a building site in Lochau. The association continues to offer recreational sports and for young people.
