Rudi Bach , born as Anton Rudolf Bach , pseudonym Idur Rivus (born January 20, 1886 in Hamburg , Germany ; † 20th century ) was a German actor , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Rudi Bach attended elementary school and then the Untergymnasium in Vienna . In addition, he said he attended a painting academy and a conservatory. At the age of 17 he began his artistic career as an actor at the Schmitz Theater. Later he was also seen under the direction of Josef Jarno at the Theater in der Josefstadt and at Monti's Operetta Theater in Berlin , where he was the first comedian to find a job. At the Theater des Westens he was not only reinstated as a comedian, but also allowed to stage plays until 1922. After that, Bach tried his hand at cabaret.

Rudi Bach first came into contact with film in 1912 and, according to his own statements, staged 108 comedies and 46 dramas over the next ten years. He also appeared in front of the camera as an actor. Much of his work was short films. For example, at the beginning of his career he initiated the popular Purzel comedy series. Bach ended his extensive screen career with a Hanoverian production in 1922. Among other things, Bach is considered the discoverer of Lissy Arna .

Rudi Bach occasionally worked under the pseudonym Idur Rivus.
