Act

Rudi Krawitz belongs to the scientific group of transcendental-critical pedagogues who, in the tradition of Kant's transcendental philosophy and neo-Kantianism, ask about the conditions of the possibility of upbringing and education and derive the appropriate standards and measures for educational action from this. In his dissertation from 1980 “Pedagogy as action orientation. The Significance of the Transcendental Critical Aspect of Pedagogy “he developed practical approaches for modern pedagogy as a doctrine of reason building, in which teaching and learning is understood as philosophizing.

In 1992 he transferred this view of pedagogical action to his concept of individual pedagogy, which he described in his habilitation thesis “Pedagogy instead of therapy. From the sense of individual educational seeing, thinking and acting ”(3rd edition 1997) unfolded. Individual education sees itself as an educational practice for all children and young people. The exclusion and outsourcing of special education from the so-called 'regular' education has been overcome. This requires pedagogical competence that has a range of specific offers and concrete options for individual help for the diverse life, interaction and learning problems of children.

After his appointment to the professorship for general didactics and school pedagogy at the University of Koblenz, he converted the general didactics seminar into an institute for integrative education, combining school pedagogy with special education .

From 1994 to 1999 he was responsible for the scientific support of the Rhineland-Palatinate school experiment “joint teaching of children with and without disabilities” at 16 primary schools in the state. In several projects, he developed didactic concepts for media-based, differentiated and individualized teaching in primary and secondary schools in cooperation with the State Center for Media and Communication of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .
