Rudi Müller-Glöge

Rudi Müller-Glöge (born August 27, 1951 in Hitzacker ) is a German lawyer, former judge at the Federal Labor Court and from October 1, 2009 to January 31, 2017, Vice-President of the highest German labor court .

Life

Müller-Glöge first completed administrative training for the senior service and then worked as a government inspector in the service of the State of Lower Saxony . This was followed by studying law and completing his legal clerkship in the higher regional court district of Celle . In 1980, Müller-Glöge completed his legal training with the second state examination . After that, he was a researcher at the University of Göttingen and received his doctorate there.

In 1982 he began his judicial career in the labor courts in Lower Saxony. In 1989 he achieved the position of presiding judge at the Lower Saxony State Labor Court . As a result of German reunification , he was seconded to Saxony-Anhalt in November 1990 and worked there as a department head in the State Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

In July 1991 he became a judge at the Federal Labor Court. He initially worked in the 8th Senate of the Federal Labor Court, from 1999 he was a member of the 5th Senate of the Federal Labor Court. In September 2001 Rudi Müller-Glöge became chairman of the 5th Senate. The Senate headed by him is responsible for employee status, wage claims including claims from default of acceptance, continued payment of wages in the event of illness and for maternity protection. From October 1, 2009 to January 31, 2017 he was Vice President of the court. In addition to his judicial work, he was and is co-editor of the Erfurt Commentary on Labor Law. He retired on July 31, 2017.
