Rudi Schneider (born July 27, 1908 in Braunau am Inn ; † April 28, 1957 in Weyer ), like his brother Willi (1903–1971), became known for his alleged psychic, medial skills.

The father of the Schneider brothers (Josef) was a typesetter . Four of his six sons, Willi, Rudi, Hans and Karl, were said to have psychic, especially telekinetic, powers, but the latter two only to a small extent. Rudi's story is mostly considered to be the most interesting of all his brothers.

Life

He was a motor mechanic by profession. He received his spiritual education from Albert von Schrenck-Notzing in Munich . Rudi's media skills were first identified at the age of 11. He held the first spiritualistic session ( séance ) in Braunau in 1919. Reports about him and his abilities appeared. Thomas Mann mentions his brother Willi Schneider in his 1923 essay Occult Experiences .

In 1927 Dr. Walter Prince a series of séances in Braunau and Stuttgart. His notes on it were published in 1928 under the title Experiments with Physical Mediums in Europe . In it he stated that the phenomena observed could easily be explained. This dampened Rudi's reputation.

In 1929 and 1930 Harry Price made two series of experiments with Rudi Schneider at the laboratories for para research in Munich. They are described by Harry Price in his book Rudi Schneider . However, his research methods were later used by Dr. Eugene Osty (1874–1938) questioned.

In 1930 and 1932, Rudi Schneider gave numerous other séances.
