Rudi Trögl Trio

Rudi Trögl (born September 25, 1958 in Ingolstadt ) is a German jazz guitarist.

Live and act

Trögl graduated from high school in 1979 at the Gabrieli high school in Eichstätt . He took lessons from the classical guitarists Alfred Winkelbauer, Hans Koch and Harald Lillmeyer, among others. His music was first influenced by the Irish blues rock guitarist Rory Gallagher , and later by the jazz guitarists Joe Pass and Pat Metheny . In 1973 he founded the blues rock formation Back to the roots with which he gave several concerts. He was also seen on stage with the jazz band Sundown and in a duo with jazz singer Petra Welteroth. Since 2005 he has been the director of the Musikschule eV Eichstätt.

In 1993 he founded the Rudi Trögl Trio, which still exists today. Rainer Hasenkopf ( double bass , e-bass ) and Helmut Welser ( drums ) play alongside him , mostly original compositions and revisions of jazz standards . In 1994 they appeared in the opening act for the Dave Liebman Group at Diagonal in Ingolstadt. In 1996 and 2002 concerts followed at the Birdland Jazz Club in Neuburg. In 1997 the Rudi Trögl Trio played in the opening act for Clark Terry at Jazz an der Donau in Neuburg. In 1998 they appeared in the Unterfahrt in Munich. Between 1998 and 2004 the trio was seen at incontri in Rohrbach; Between 1995 and 2004 there were appearances at the Bavarian Jazz Festival in Regensburg and from 1994 to 2002 at the Ingolstadt Jazz Days . In 2004 she performed at the Swing and Dixie Festival in Ingolstadt.

Prizes and awards

In 1996 Trögl received the Ingolstadt jazz promotion award.
