Rudolf Żelaziewicz

Rudolf Żelaziewicz ( Russian Рудольф Андреевич Желязевич ; * 1811 in Warsaw ; † 1874 ) was a Polish - Russian architect and university professor .

Life

Żelaziewicz studied abroad. From 1832 to 1854 he worked for the Central Administration of Roads and Public Buildings in Congress Poland . Together with Alexei Nikititsch Akutin and Eduard Anert , he built the barracks for the 1st Naval School Team in Kronstadt between 1836 and 1846 . With Ivan Denissowitsch Tschernik he renovated the barracks of the bodyguard regiment on horseback in St. Petersburg in the 1840s .

In 1842 Żelaziewicz received the title of academic from the Academy of Arts . Żelaziewicz was a senior architect in the railway department and developed sample projects for station buildings. He was the construction inspector of the Nikolai Railway . From 1844 to 1851 he was involved in the construction of the Nikolai train station in St. Petersburg.

In 1845 Żelaziewicz was appointed professor II class of the Academy of Arts for the program Project of a Russian Orthodox Church in the Byzantine style . In 1848 he became a teacher of architectural theory at the Academy of Arts. In 1857 he was released from his duties as a professor at his own request .
